There will be nothing wrong to say that Social media is going to become the one of the biggest revolution in internet industry. People are spending their maximum time on social media sites in internet. Moreover social media can change the way of using the internet. Internet industry giant Google is facing the threat from social media site Facebook.

Facebook is most popular social media site and having more than 400 million users. Besides facebook other popular social media sites are Twitter, You Tube, myspace, Linked in , Wikipedia, Digg etc. All of these sites carried millions of daily traffic. People are sharing their status, information or giving their opinion about some products, services etc. Let’s take a look about some facts and data about the growth of social media sites.

. If Facebook will be a country then it will we third largest in world just behind the India and China.

. More than 1/5 of internet user uses the facebook, and an average person spend the daily 13 min. on facebook .

. Facebook got more than 200 million users less then in year, maximum no. of user in the world by any medium in a year.

. You Tube surpasses the 2 billion video views daily.

. Facebook has become the no.1 site in USA on weekly traffic basis and second largest traffic site in the world on traffic bases.

. Twitter has more than 200 million users and is the fastest growing social media site in the world. The growth of the twitter is more than thousand.

. In all over the world people spend the more than 800 billion hours on social media sites.

So we can say that social media sites have become the most time spending sites on internet. If so much is happening in social media sites then it force the all companies to think about its utilization. Nowadays companies are using the social media for online advertisement, brand promotions, brand building, CRM activities.

We can say these all companies are doing the social media marketing for their business. In online marketing social media sites become the first choice for online marketing. There are the few tips by which you can do the social media marketing of your sites or products.

Create your profile in social media sites; write the full information about your company and products in your profile. Also write the URLs of your site where it has been asked for in all these social media sites. Try to utilize the applications of each particular social media sites.

"TV meets web.Web meets TV" is the Google slogan for his TV. Google has come up with TV in the world of internet.Google called his TV as "Google TV". TV which will allow you to access the web in your TV.Yesterday Google has announced the Google TV,with a target to reach the maximum no.of users in world.In all over the world TV has 4 billion user,maximum no. of user by any medium. And Google has decide to reach across the 4 billion users. We can say advertising to 4 billion user in the world.

Google try to make TV into a regular internet web terminal, where people can search, can access to
facebook, twitter etc. Google say, in Google TV they focus on :

Google will provide the software for TV, while Sony will make the TV with Intel chips and Logitech will provide the remote control. Google TV is build on the android, it will use Google Chrome for browser.

Google hasn't told more about the Google TV like its price, advertising etc. But Google planned to make it available in market by the end of this year. So let's see what revolution Google TV will make in TV industry.

War between Facebook and Google.

The growth of the Facebook is givining a threat to Internet giant Google. Facebook has more than 500 million user who contribute to more than 4 billion piece of information, 850 million photos and more than 8 million videos every month. More then 400 million users means more than 1/5 of internet user in the world. Means facebook can become search engine who has most personal user data. Facebook has become the no. 1 traffic site in USA on weekly basis.

On the basis of traffic facebook is on second position after google and is gaining more and more market share of Google. Moreover what exactly facebook will do with the 400 million data of people is still a question of concern. Suppose what will happen if people get all search results on facebook like other search engines. Then what would be their first choice, again here Facebook have an edge. All these facts are giving a threat to Google.

Facebook Track Record
Facebook is known for its new social application and techniques. In facebook you can reload the photos like Flickr, share links like Delicious, send the personal e mail, check the status updation of friends, can create your company or business personal page. Facebook has introduced the "Like Button" for all his pages, which is helping the user to promote their page more virally. Moreover facebook has more form of advertising like facebook adds with pictures,facebook fan page, groups then google online advertising.

Last year Facebook had purchased the "FriendFeed" a popular social networking platform. In last December Facebook launched Connect, a network of more than 10,000 sites, which allows the user to access facebook without logging to facebook site.Moreover Facebook is using Bing as it default search engine. This year in Feb Google had launched the "Google Buzz" his new social networking venture,but could not successed in diverting people from facebook.

If Facebook continue growing like this it will not take more time to become the no. one site in world. Today the rivalry between Facebook and Google are going to define the new structure, design, utility and future of the internet. From the last decades internet has been defined by Google algorithm and his mathematics equations. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg believes in a more personalized, humanized Web, where our network of friends, colleagues, peers, and family is our primary source of information.

We can't ignore the Google in terms of innovation, new applications, techniques in internet. How Google will deal with Facebook,we can find this answer only in future. In 1-2 years picture will get more clearer who is going to dominate on internet. I am writing this post in May 2010 and i believe in the end of this year picture will get little bit more clearer.

Make sure your each web page has separate title,meta description tags.Do some keyword research related to your site and use these keywords in your title and description tags.Keep your page title in between 60-80 character and description between 160-180 character.Meta keywords are no longer use for Google but for yahoo.bing and other search engine you can use the meta keywords.

Give the h1 tags to your every page using your keywords. Anchors text also play a good role in search engine ranking.Use keywords in anchors text. Don't use generic words like click here etc. As well there should be good inbound links in your site. Make good inbound links in your site by using anchor text.

Content is King

Site Map, Static URLs etc.

Make sure that your site have site maps and URLs of your site should be static.Static URLs are more search engine friendly than dynamic URLs.Gives alt tags to your images.write your content in short paragraphs.I am sure if you implement all these tips and techniques in your site,your site will get good search engine ranking in major search engine like Google,yahoo,Bing.
