Penguin updates is Google new algorithm change which will decrease rankings for sites that Google believe are violating Google’s existing quality guidelines. We can say Penguin will target the web spam. Google said, new update will effect the 3.1% of organic search results in Google.

 But question is what is web spam and which practices Google will consider as web spam. Deeper Look into Google Inside Search

Google is doing more than 200 experiments with Google search and every year Google implement over 500 improvements to its search algorithm. As Amith Singhal said, Last year Google launched the 500 changes in algorithm, means Google changes his algorithm everyday. In 2010 Google run over 20,000 experiments in Google search. Few days ago Google posted the ten recent algorithm changes in search results in his blog post.

But how Google implement these changes and how Google decide which new algorithm they need to implements in search results. Well, Google do lots of live search experiment and send the some data of those experiment to actual Google search traffic and Google do this by using the sand boxes. For an improvement in search algorithm, it has to go through process of rigorous scientific testing. And if Google experiments data showed it's not helping user, Google will not launch change in algorithm.

Android OS Holds 50% Market Share of Globe

Android becomes the smart phone leader in Globe and holds more than 48% market share of globe. Apple comes in second place with 19% share, Samsung comes in third at 16% market share. Android is leader in 35 countries and in few months this share is going to increase by 40% more.

In March month post i wrote about the Android Market leader in US and it take few more months to Android to become the market leader of globe. In 2010 Android experience 469% growth of users and share the 24% smart phone market of US. It seems Google has magical viral formula for Andriod :)



Android users to increase by 42% this year
A research from emarkter showed that Android will get 42% growth in new user and share the 28% market of smart phones. Both Android and iOS hold the more than two third market share of smart phones all accross the globe.

Android is open source OS and does not need any licences fee and allows handset manufacturers to use it according to their specification.

Check +1 Reporting in Webmaster and Google Analytics

June has been big month for Google, in this month Google introduced the +1, Google Voice search, search by image, Instant pages then Google+ and now +1 reoprts in Google Analytics and Webmaster.

Now you can check the search impact, activity and audience reports in your webmaster dashboard.

• Search Impact report will tell you how +1 brings the organic traffic to your website. You can compare the clicks and impression for pages of your website.
• Activity report will tell you how many times people +1 your website pages.
• Audience report tell about the geographic and demographic information of users who +1 the pages of your website.

+1 for Google Analytics
You can find the +1 report at Visitors section under Social category. In social category you will see the Engagement, Action and Pages reporting section.

• Social engagement report will tell you visitors behavior who come from social networks. Like how much time they spend on website, no. of page views etc. It's quite similar to content section in GA.

• Action will tell you total no. of social actions performed on your site, social action means +1, Facebook share, Likes, Tweets, Social Bookmarks etc.

• Social Pages tell you about those pages which got the highest number of social actions.

Yesterday was big announcement day for Google. At Google Inside camp, Google announced the Google Voice Search, Instant Pages and Search by Image. In few weeks Google will roll out the all services.

Last year Google launched the Google Instant for quick search result. Google said, people type less and read more and Google Instant will provide more fast search results than ever. No doubt Google Instant is much faster and Google is working on Instant to make it much better.

Instant Pages are Google next innovation to make search results faster. Yesterday, Google gave live demo on how Google instant pages are faster than earlier pages. Google showed the speed of both pages live on two different browsers, below you can see the video about instant pages



How Instant pages works?
If you are curious to know, how Instant pages works and how you get such fast result, then here is secret. In instant pages, Google will pre-load the first search result, if it's confident that user will clik on the first search results. Google will not only download the basic HTML file but will download the all images and even execute the java script before user click on search results.

Google take one step next to Instant. Even if you don't type on Google search box but with Google voice search you can see the search results. Google Launched Music Beta

Yesterday Google launched the Music Beta at Google I/O confrence. Now you can store upto 20,000 songs and this service is free of cost. Right now Music Beta service is only for United State but soon Google will roll out it to entire world.

Till date no music store is associated with Google but Google confirmed all music will be legal. In Google Music beta you can store 20,000 songs and can stream them in your PC or android phone. Also you can tranfer music from iTunes too. Google Music Beta is free service but there will be no surprise if in future Google will convert it into paid services.

Google Funniest April Fool Joke

Google known for its April fool jokes, it started from the launch of Gmail and till this year Google surprise the world through its April fool jokes. Beauty of the jokes are that in last second you come to know its a joke because jokes are so realistic and in field of technology Google can do anything.

In morning when i check my Gmail i saw "New Gmail Motion Beta" at top of my Gmail box. As i click on link a new page open with video and sign in button. First i watched the video, i thought may be it's possible but after that when i click on try Gmail Motion i got "April Fool, Gmail Motion does not exist" message. Google has introduced the +1 search recommendation button something like "Facebook Like" button in search results. Now you can save and share search results by using Google +1 button. In order to recommend the search results you have to click on the +1 button in search results. In this way your friends and people in your networking can see the all search results +1 by you.

Suppose if you find an article is interesting or providing useful information you can use the +1 to recommend the article by clicking on +1 sign. For example i searched "how to cook pasta" and new search results i got are

Comscore: Android Smart Phones Leader in U.S.

Good news for Google and Android lover, Android become the market leader in U.S. Android edged out the RIM and move into first postion. Although the differnce is not that much but if android keep grwoing in same way it will cover the major smart phones market in U.S.

According to comscore Android has market share of 31.2% where as RIM has 30.4% market share. Apple is in third position with market share of 24.6%.
