How to Find RSS Feed of Blog

You have noticed some website asked for RSS feed of blog. Specially if your are submitting your blog in website like Technorati, Blog Directories even in Facebook Notes etc. So what are RSS feeds and how you can find the RSS feed of your blog?

RSS stands for really simple syndication. RSS feed is basically is a standard way of formatting information so that it is easily collected in and psssed with out visiting the website or blog. Like by subscribing the RSS feed you can see all blog news and updates in your mail box.

If you are Blogger, most of bloger write blog in blogspot. Its very simple open your blog in Mozilla browser after this you will see the RSS feed icon at end of browser. Simply click on RSS icon and you will see image shown below

Simply click on second feed and you will get the RSS feed of your Blog. It looks

Second method is, click on the Tools in browser, then select Page Info and then click on the RSS image on top of tab and you can see the RSS feed of your blog.

You agree or not but Blogs are more powerful than website. Blogs have become best portals for visitors interaction. Blogs are more talkative and always give something new to read. A few reasons why blogs are more powerful than a website.

Blogs are very easy to update, any one, even who do not have knowledge of html can updates blogs. You can write new post about product and services in blog easily. You can insert images, videos in blog very easily as compared to website.

In blog you can allow visitors commenting. You can see what people have written about your business or services. If they have any complaint about product and services, people can write about their bad experience.

Believe me or not but your blogs are the biggest resource of information for your customers and visitors. You can write about your products and how to use a product in best possible way. Besides this you can give tips to your customers in blog posts.

Blogs can generate more traffic as compared to website. Website are statics and rarely change the content and images of website. In general, if you visit a website after one month you will see the same content and look, which is quite boring.

Do Blogs require SEO? How to do SEO for Blogs?

Yesterday my laptop Windows got crashed and lost lots of data. A few days ago i wrote blog post "Lesson i learnt from Spider" which motivates me all time. So instead of frustrating, i thought its better to write blog post.

Lots of my friend ask me question can we do SEO for a blog. How it is different than a website? How much time Blog will take to come in SERP?

I will say Blog don't require SEO. First thing you have to remember that blogs are for writing. So write as much as you can. Blogs are for updation, so keep updating your blog.

For SEO implementation in Blog
First decide on which topic you want to write a blog. If i ask, about what you are writing a blog, you should have specific answer. Like i am writing a blog for Poems, Travel, SEO, Technology etc. If you are writing a blog for everything, that means you are writing for nothing.

Write good Title and Description for your blog. You can see in my blog i write a title and description for my blog. Anyone who come to your blog understand easily what your blog is about.

Make Categories
Make separate category for your blog post and tag your blog post in those category. So visitor can read all posts related to specific topic.

Blog Directory Submission
Submit your blog in good blog directories like Technorati, My Bloglog, Blogged.com, Blog Catalog etc. Besides this you can also register to some good country specific directories like Blog Adda, Indibloger.in etc.

Social Media Participation
Participate and promote your blog in social media website like Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin etc. In Facebook you can use network blog for blog promotion. Besides this keep Tweeting your new and old posts.

Social Bookmarking

Technorati Survey- Blogs get Most of Traffic from Facebook and Twitter

Annual survey of Technorati shows that blogs are getting maximum traffic from Facebook and Twitter. Technorati is world leading blog search engine and directory and have indexes millions of blogs.
Around 7,200 blogger participated in survey. Topic includes in survey are branding, social media vs non social media, mobile blogging, niche blogging, Twitter and Facebook for blogging.

Some of the Key Results of Survey are

. North America has maximum no. of bloggers in world 38%, US comes in 2nd having 33% of bloggers of all over world.

. Mobile blogging has shown growth this year, smart phones get 25% growth for mobile blogging.

. 65% blogger are hobbyist, 21% are self employees and 13% are part timer two third of blogger are male and 65% blogger are of age 18-44.

. Out of all social media websites Facebook and Twitter drives most traffic for Blogs. 87% of all Blogger use Facebook.

. 71% people write about only those brands, products which they approved by their personal experience.

Important Points in Writing a Blog

Each person has his own writing style, and write on different categories, subjects. It can be related to technology, poems, art, personal etc. And all of us want to improve our writing skill, because most of us are not a professional writer.

We want more and more people read our blog. For all of this you should have good writing skill. There are some important tips which help you to make our writing skill better. Some of the points which we have to take care in writing a blog are :

. Content is King, write unique, fresh content for your blog

. Consistency, There should be consistency in your blog writing, at least 4-5 posts in a week.

. Write with Reader in mind

. Use Keywords as often as possible.

. Pay attention to Titles, write short paragraphs for your blog post

. Make a list of categories so that reader can easily find the content they want to read

. Use Headlines that is clear, concise and descriptive your each post

. Use images in most appropriate way in your blog post

How Often Should I Blog ?

As a Blogger this question often arises in mind, how much blog posts i should write in a day or week or month? And answer depend on type of blog you have, means your blog is personal or corporate blog.
 
If your Blog is personal
. Try to write one post in day. Daily blog post are best.
or One post on alternate day.
. Not less than once a week, preferably 2 or 3 times.

If your Blog is Corporate or Public
. More will be post better will be for blog
. At least 2-3 posts in a day
. Not less than 8-10 posts in a week.

Common Tips for Both types of Blog
. Focus on quality of blog post not quantity.
. If your blog post content are not fresh and original, its useless to write a blog.

As a blogger i want to share the three guru mantra for blogging. Although there are lots of blogs tips, but the three which i like most and try to implement are

Passion
Passion is Guru Mantra for Blogging. Be passionate about blogging.Your passion for blogging can make you a great blogger.

Consistency
Consistency, one of most important thing in blog writing. Be consistent in blog writing. If you can't write blog daily try to write on alternate days. Even if you write one blog post in a week, be consistent on that.

Short Post
Less is more in Blogging. Try to write short posts in your blog. Don't try to make your blog post too much lengthy. Believe me to write short post is not easy task.

Lots of Fun and Learning at IndiBlogger Meet

This was my first IndiBlogger meet at Bangalore. Yesterday i joined 250 Bloggers  all across India at Indiblogger meet. The venue of meet was at Fortune Park JP CelestialHotel Bangalore .

IndiBlogger meet gave lots of prizes for contest winners, Bloggers who are pasionate about blogging. Raghva speech on Blogging, tips on blogging was impressive. Besides this  tips from indiblogger team on Mobile blogging was wonderful.

Bloggers from differnt walk of fields share their blogging experience, journey, tips etc. Being a blogger i enjoyed here lot, specially live twitter commenting by bloggers. Poster commenting on on your back was really intersting. Blogger from 14 years to 65 year old were at meet. It was really a great experience, I'm waiting for Indiblogger next meet :-)

This question often arises, why i need a Blog for my business? I already have a website for my business. My website has all detailed information of my products and services. So why i write a Blog for my business?
