How Google Search Works ?

Have you ever think how Google search works? What happen when you search in Google? What Google, Yahoo, Bing or other search engines do and give you most relevant result you searching for. And all this happen so fast, less than one second and you will get 100 of pages results for your search query. In my previous Google Caffeine post i discuss a little about the how Google search work but can't discuss in brief there. So here is the secret behind the search.

First thing that you have to understand is that when you are going to search in search engine, you are not actually searching the web. You are searching for the Google index of the web or whatever data Google have regarding to your search. And you will see all this relevant data in search results. For all this process Google have software programs called as Googlebot, Indexer and Query processer. Let’s discuss the function of each software one by one

Googlebots-which are also known as spiders, is a web crawler and it finds and fetches the all web pages. After this these spiders follow the links of those pages and fetch the all the links that page is point to.

Indexer- The indexer crawled the every single word on the web pages and stored the indexed pages in a huge data base of Google.

And finally The Query Processer- checks the search query. Query processor checks the all documents which have information related to your search. Like how many times your search words have appeared in search. Are your search words appearing in tile or description or in URL of the page, does page have synonyms of your search words, what’s the page’s Page Rank etc? After this Google finalize all these parameter and show you the most relevant search results for your search query.The picture below will help you in understanding the whole process more better
